The Student Enrollment Options (SEO) program at Harford County Public Schools (HCPS) offers Dual Transfer of Credit and College Credit only options through its Early College Access category.  SEE all Student Enrollment Options, FAQs regarding dual enrollment, and Part-time Attendance.   All HCPS and HCC enrollment, program rules and procedures apply.

A student may choose to take all graduation requirements at HCPS.

College Credit Only

 

A sophomore or junior’s schedule may include taking all courses at their HCPS high school AND they may choose to enroll in College Credit only courses at HCC outside of the normal school day (online, evening or weekend).

 

A junior or senior’s schedule may include taking 6 credits at high school, leave early one day (A or B) and take College Credit only courses at HCC.

 

Many scheduling combinations exist for taking College Credit only courses through HCC.

Dual Transfer of Credit

 

 

A sophomore or junior’s schedule may include taking all courses at their HCPS high school AND they may choose to enroll in Dual Transfer of Credit courses (like PE, English, or Social Studies) through HCC outside of the normal school day (online, evening or weekend).

 

A junior or senior’s schedule may include taking 6 or less credits at high school, leave early one day (A or B) and take Dual Transfer of Credit course at HCC.

 

A senior’s schedule may include an HCC course taken at the high school for Dual Transfer of Credit: Business Capstone, HCC math.

 

Multiple options exist for taking Dual Transfer of Credit courses through HCC.

Full-day Senior Waiver

College Enrollment for High School Completion

SB740 Eligible

 

A senior will enroll in four (4) or more college courses (full-time college status) during the Fall semester of their senior year

Courses can be a combination of HCC College Credit Only or Dual Transfer of Credit.

Early Graduation through Dual Transfer of Credit

To achieve Early Graduation, a student may elect to take Dual Transfer of Credit courses at HCC to meet graduation requirements (like PE, English Social Studies). Depending on the student’s schedule, this may occur by attending HCC

  • During regular HCPS School day (as HCPS schedule permits)
  • After HCPS school day (nights, weekends, etc.)
  • Summer Semester at HCCIMPORTANT:SB740 tuition reduction does not cover college courses taken outside of the regular school year, specifically Summer.
